Rachel Reeves announces a temporary VAT cut from 20% to 5% on theme parks, zoos, cinemas, museums and children’s meals this summer to help families with the cost of living.

The scheme runs during the school holidays and also includes free bus travel for under-16s in England. Critics say the measures will not go far enough to tackle rising energy and food bills.
