Russia-Ukraine War: Kyiv Strikes Largest Oil Refinery In Drone Strikes, Moscow Hits Back | WATCH

Ukraine launched a large-scale overnight drone attack targeting an oil refinery in Russia’s Yaroslavl region, major Baltic oil export ports in the Leningrad region, and an industrial facility in Kaluga, according to Russian officials and local media.

On Monday, Yaroslavl Governor Mikhail Yevraev claimed that more than 70 Ukrainian drones were shot down on their approach to the region. Two people were reportedly hospitalized with shrapnel wounds.

According to the Russian outlet Astra, the primary target was the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery, one of Russia’s five largest refineries, with an annual processing capacity of 15 million tons. Russia launched waves of missiles and drones targeting Kyiv overnight into Monday that killed at least seven people, authorities said, hours after Ukraine’s president warned that another large-scale attack was imminent. The attack, which was still underway early Monday morning, involved waves of ballistic and cruise missiles as well as drones. Explosions echoed across the city as civilians sought shelter in metro stations.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had warned hours earlier of another large-scale Russian attack on the city. Monday's attack comes days after a combined Russian attack killed at least 31 people in Kyiv last week.
