PM Modi Begins Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand State Visit | What's On The Agenda | WATCH
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a three-nation diplomatic tour aimed at strengthening India's strategic partnerships across the Indo-Pacific. The visit will take him to Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, where trade, defence, critical minerals and regional security are expected to dominate the agenda. Prime Minister Modi has landed in Indonesia, where he will hold bilateral talks with President Prabowo Subianto. The leaders are expected to review cooperation in trade, defence, maritime security, digital technology and connectivity.
As two major maritime democracies, India and Indonesia share a strategic interest in ensuring a free, open and rules-based Indo-Pacific. Discussions are also expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in the Indian Ocean region and boosting economic ties. Key issues on the table include defence cooperation, critical minerals, clean energy, technology, education and supply chain resilience.
The two countries have significantly expanded security ties in recent years, driven by shared concerns over regional stability and growing strategic competition in the Indo-Pacific.
