Taken by the Russians – life in the shadow of war

This is the story of Veronika, abducted by the Russians only days after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. She faced uncertainty, separated from her mother, who was working for the Ukrainian military. In this intimate account, Veronika recalls the fear, uncertainty and desire to be back with her family. The interview explores the reality of many kids who fell victim to Russian abduction. 1.6 mln Ukrainian children face separation from parents in the occupied territories, with over 20,000 abducted and forcibly transferred.
