We headed up to 1300m on a mountain in New Zealand just as a major snowstorm was rolling in. With temperatures hitting -7°C, this turned into one of the most brutal and exhausting camps I've done in a long time. From navigating through massive tree carnage and river crossings to setting up the new Samaya High Camp 3 tent in the freezing snow, Bernie and I had our work cut out for us.
