Taking the stand: What the psychiatrists saw before Lindsay Clancy killed her children

It was a revealing and at times tense day in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial as two psychiatrists who treated her in the months and weeks before the deaths of her three children took the stand.
For the first time, jurors heard extensive testimony about Lindsay’s mental health treatment, the long list of medications she was prescribed, the symptoms she reported and what doctors believed was happening to her as her condition appeared to deteriorate.
The testimony is especially significant because the defense argues Lindsay was suffering from postpartum psychosis triggered by overmedication, while prosecutors contend the killings were premeditated.
One psychiatrist faced pointed questions about what doctors knew, and what they apparently did not know, about Lindsay’s medical history, including previous calls to suicide hotlines.
Another psychiatrist, Dr. Jennifer Tufts, detailed 14 appointments with Lindsay and revealed what Lindsay told her during a virtual appointment just ONE DAY before the killings.
Nate Eaton will break down the medications, dosages, diagnoses and warning signs discussed in court, including Lindsay saying she felt “numb,” hopeless and disconnected.
