Trump warns of further strikes as US ceasefire with Iran is 'over' | RTÉ News

US President Donald Trump has said he believes the ceasefire with Iran was "over" and that the United States was likely ⁠to launch new strikes tonight following Iranian attacks on US bases in the Gulf. It comes after the two sides traded attacks overnight and this morning, in what was the largest escalation of violence since a memorandum of understanding was signed three weeks ago.

During a NATO summit in the Turkish capital Ankara, leaders announced new multibillion-dollar arms deals aimed at strengthening the alliance’s military capabilities – something President Trump has long demanded. Allies also pledged to provide Ukraine with €70 billion in military funding over the next two years , while the US indicted Ukraine would be allowed to build their own Patriot missiles.
