Wayanad Landslide Hits Under Construction Tunnel Site; Several Feared Trapped, Rescue Operations On

A landslide struck the under-construction Anakkompoyil-Meppadi tunnel project near Meppady in Kerala's Wayanad district, raising fears that several workers may be trapped. At least five people were injured and three were rescued by local residents, while Fire and Rescue Services, Police and NDRF teams continue search operations. Chief Minister V.D. Satheeshan has ordered an emergency response as authorities assess the situation.
