The Centre has opened a direct channel of communication with activist Sonam Wangchuk after 24 days of his hunger strike. Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh met Wangchuk at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram following his transfer from Safdarjung Hospital. While the government has begun discussions, Wangchuk has continued his fast, saying there has been no breakthrough on his key demands.
