Matlala Trial | State witness testifies in trial-within-a-trial

State witness in the trial of Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala and four others has told the High Court that the alleged hitman, Musa Kekana, had no visible injuries to indicate that police had assaulted him.

Lieutenant-Colonel Tumelo Tsotetsi is testifying in a trial-within-a-trial, where Kekana claims that police acted unlawfully when they arrested him in 2024.

Kekana is on trial in the High Court in Johannesburg, with Matlala, Tsakani Matlala, Tiego Mabusela, and Nthabiseng Nzama.

This is in connection with the botched assassination attempts on socialite, Tebogo Thobejane, businessman, Joe Sibanyoni, and music producer, Seunkie Mokubung.
