Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi movement has claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile attack on the Saudi oil tanker NCC Ghazal in the Red Sea, accusing the vessel of violating its recently announced maritime blockade on Saudi shipping. The Houthis said the tanker was forced to retreat, while the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported an explosion near a commercial tanker but said the crew was safe and no environmental damage occurred. The latest strike comes days after the Houthis claimed attacks on the tankers Encelia and Layla, raising concerns over maritime security and global oil supply routes through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
