E-scooters set to be banned for under-18s | RTÉ News

E-scooters will be banned for anyone aged under 18, under proposals agreed by the Government.

It follows concerns over the rising number of children being treated for serious head injuries as a result of crashes.

It was also agreed that hi-vis jackets and helmets will be mandatory for all e-scooter use.

Despite today's announcement, coalition leaders said they are not ruling out the possibility of an outright ban.
