Spain: World Cup winners celebrate with a victory parade in Madrid

Spain's FIFA World Cup 2026 champions have been welcomed home by hundreds of thousands of fans in Madrid after their victory over Argentina in the final.

The squad paraded the World Cup trophy through the Spanish capital before being received by King Felipe VI and the royal family. Coach Luis de la Fuente praised his team's unity after extending Spain's unbeaten run to 38 matches.

The celebrations also marked the rise of a new generation of Spanish stars, including teenagers Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí, as Spain looks ahead to co-hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
