Ukrainians continue to protest last week’s dismissal of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. The decision was reportedly caused by a conflict between the popular Fedorov and top commander Oleksandr Syrskyi, with the public clearly siding with the minister.
“Zelenskyy seemed to have forgotten that he ran for presidency as a “servant of the people.” And that’s how his party is called. It seems to be backfiring on him,” said Adam Jasser, TVP World’s News Director, pointing out that this is not the first time Zelenskyy miscalculated the impact his decisions may have.
“Zelenskyy already had similar protests when he tried to lessen the importance or to crack down on the anti-corruption agencies. That was a crisis of his own making,” TVP World’s News Director said, adding that amid the massive public backlash, Zelenskyy was forced to back down.
“And now we have a repeat of this,” he said.
