2 US soldiers killed by Iranian strikes in Jordan identified

The number of U.S. service members killed in the war with Iran has risen to 17 after nine straight days of back-and-forth missile strikes. The escalating tension is sending oil and gas prices soaring again, as traffic through the key Strait of Hormuz nearly grinds to a halt.

The latest round of strikes against Iran, ordered by U.S. President Donald Trump, are in response to the deaths of U.S. soldiers 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan and Pte. Isabella Gonzales. Both were killed in Iranian strikes on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan over the weekend.

As Global's Candice Cole reports, Iran’s foreign ministry has said the diplomatic apparatus remains active, but accuses the U.S. of approaching diplomacy through coercion and intimidation.
