Iran Bombs Two Oil Tankers In Gulf Of Oman As War In Hormuz Escalates, US Launches Fresh Attacks

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps says two oil tankers exploded and were forced to halt in the southern Strait of Hormuz late last night. According to the semi-official Tasnim news agency, the IRGC claimed the vessels were attempting to transit through the strategic waterway under what it described as "US coercion." The IRGC issued a strong warning, saying the Strait of Hormuz is no longer safe for the transport of chemical fertilizer or even a single drop of oil and gas. The IRGC's claims come after an earlier maritime alert from the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations. The UKMTO reported that a vessel was on fire approximately eight nautical miles northwest of Kumzar, Oman.
