Leaving Betong behind, I hit the road heading deeper into Thailand’s far south, beginning what turned out to be one of the most surprising journeys I’ve had in the country. From local breakfast spots like Betong Dim Dum to hidden caves along the route, this ride was packed with quiet roads, untouched scenery, and moments that completely challenged my expectations of the region.

Arriving in Narathiwat, I spent the next few days exploring a side of Thailand that very few travellers ever get to see. From peaceful beaches and the coastline at Narathiwat Beach to the natural beauty of Ao Manao National Park and a stunning hidden waterfall, this province delivers raw, unfiltered landscapes without the crowds.
