Recently, I found a small cave in the rock on the bank of a river. The place felt cozy and hidden, so I decided to turn it into a shelter.
Using logs washed onto the shore by the river, I built a front wall, made a door from old boards, crafted a simple bed, and even built a stove from river stones. Later, I brought glass by boat and installed a window overlooking the river.
The cave slowly became a warm and comfortable cabin.
But today, when I returned to this place, I was shocked.
A fire had destroyed everything.
The wooden walls were burned, the shelter was ruined, and all my work had disappeared. I still don’t know what happened — maybe careless visitors or local poachers caused the fire.
But I decided not to give up.
I cleaned the entire place, removed the burned wood and broken glass, and started rebuilding the shelter from scratch.
This time, I brought cement by boat and decided to make the new wall from stone. Stone by stone, a stronger and safer cabin began to rise inside the cave.
I rebuilt the stove, installed a new window and door, and by the end of the day the shelter became even better than before.
Tonight, I stay here again — alone in my rebuilt cave cabin deep in the wilderness.
