The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario is reporting a significant increase in e-scooter injuries, with 93 kids visiting the emergency room over the past year compared to 34 the year prior. CTV's Austin Lee reports that Sgt. Josh Callaghan of the Ottawa Police Service says officers are conducting operations in Findlay Creek and Riverside South to catch underage riders and speeding. E-scooter riders must be at least 16 years old, and anyone under 18 is required to wear a helmet. E-scooters have a maximum speed of 24 kilometres per hour and can only be operated on streets with a limit of 50 kilometres per hour or less.
