A powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia on Monday, its strongest quake in over a decade. The epicenter was near San José del Palmar in the Chocó region, but the worst destruction hit Pereira and the coffee-growing Eje Cafetero, where buildings collapsed and dozens were killed. Rescue teams are still searching the rubble as the death toll continues to rise.
