Excitement builds ahead of Wednesday's solar eclipse

Skywatchers will be treated to what could be a once-in-a-lifetime event on Wednesday when the Sun will be almost completely obscured by the Moon.

With clear skies predicted for many, the partial solar eclipse will be the most dramatic celestial event to be seen in the UK since the full eclipse in 1999.

The next partial eclipse will happen in 2081.
