Russia claimed fresh battlefield gains in Ukraine on Wednesday, announcing the capture of additional territory in the Sumy region and reporting a major overnight missile and drone strike on Kyiv. In a notable admission, Ukraine's Air Force said it failed to intercept any of the missiles launched during the attack. Moscow also said President Vladimir Putin had reshuffled the military command structure while Russian air defenses destroyed more than 1,000 drones in the past day. The developments come as Russia projects confidence through new territorial advances, growing volunteer numbers and large-scale military exercises across the Pacific region.
