Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta faced one of its biggest migration crises after authorities said between 50,000 and 60,000 migrants crossed from Morocco within two days. Hundreds remained stranded outside an overcrowded reception centre, with some migrants saying they had gone days without food and water. Spanish officials said at least 67 people died during the crossings, including those who drowned at sea and others killed in border stampedes. Spain has since installed a 500-metre floating barrier and increased security, while neighbouring European countries respond to the growing migration pressure.
