75 Dead In Assam Floods, Over 3.32 Lakh Still Affected; Govt Raises Ex Gratia To Rs 9 Lakh | News18

The death toll due to the flood situation in Assam increased on Wednesday after seven more people lost their lives in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 75. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 3.32 lakh people across seven districts remain affected by the deluge.

The state government has also announced a major relief package by increasing the ex gratia for the families of those killed in the floods to Rs 9 lakh, while easing the documentation required to claim the compensation.
