The United States has announced fresh sanctions targeting Iranian financier Ali Ansari and other individuals and entities linked to Tehran’s financial networks.
The US Treasury says the measures are aimed at disrupting money channels supporting Iran’s ruling establishment and organisations linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The sanctions also target alleged shell company networks, exchange houses and overseas financial operations.
The move comes amid rising US-Iran tensions, renewed disputes over the Strait of Hormuz and growing pressure on Tehran’s leadership. Watch the latest updates on Iran sanctions, US foreign policy, Mojtaba Khamenei-linked networks and Middle East tensions.
