Russia launched a major overnight assault on Ukraine, firing seven ballistic missiles and 136 drones at multiple cities, including Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia. In Chernihiv, a drone strike on a supermarket killed two people, including a nine-year-old child, and injured 25 others. Kyiv suffered missile strikes that sparked fires in residential buildings, while attacks in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia caused more casualties. Two Naftogaz employees were also killed while helping civilians in Sloviansk. The attacks came after Russia accused Ukraine of striking civilians in Russian-occupied territory. Both sides deny deliberately targeting civilians as the war intensifies.
