Ottawa gives $38M for Wiikwemkoong watermain project

Ottawa is giving $38 million to Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory on Manitoulin Island for a major watermain project. The Build Communities Strong funding will support about 430 existing and future homes and residential lots on Rabbit Island Road and the Ojibway Heights subdivision. The project will end the community's reliance on trucked water and household cistern systems.
