Groups call on Ottawa election candidates to fix transit | CTV News Ottawa at Six for Sept. 15, 2026

CTV's Tyler Fleming reports on the new Transit Action Network, a coalition of five community organizations pushing to make transit a priority in Ottawa's municipal election. The group is calling for lower fares, dedicated bus lanes, expanded Para Transpo capacity and improved on-demand booking; CTV's Peter Szperling reports on students at the Richard Robinson Fashion Design Academy who are waiting for the province to approve the school for OSAP eligibility. The school says the approval normally happens before the school year but this year there has been no communication or timeline; CTV's Katelyn Wilson reports on changes to Ontario rental rules taking effect September 21 that will shorten the period tenants have to pay overdue rent before a landlord can apply to the Landlord and Tenant Board. The province is also changing rules around tenants raising issues at non-payment hearings and renovictions; CTV's Austin Lee takes viewers inside this year's Minto Dream Home for the CHEO Dream of a Lifetime Lottery. The 5,300-square-foot home, called “The Beaumont,” is located at 389 Vibert Douglas Drive in Kanata and features an elevator serving three floors, a solarium, private fitness centre and large primary bedroom and ensuite and CTV's Dylan Dyson reports on Ottawa's first Infrastructure Forum, where business and political leaders discussed housing, transit, mobility, placemaking and energy infrastructure.
