Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cybercab & Cybertruck production happens, the home of Cortex 1 & 2 AI Data Centers, the Optimus Robot, the joint SpaceX & Tesla Advanced Technology Chip Fabrication Facility, Test Track & Battery Cathode Plant!
First off, I want to say thanks for helping me exceed 100K followers on X! I am truly amazed and humbled at hitting this milestone and thanks to everyone who has made this possible along with my 390 X supporters! My YouTube channel has also grown, now nearing 50K! Wow!
Construction is once again the biggest story here today, with multiple sites under active work including what is most likely the new Welcome Center and Employee orientation facility on the W side of SH-130 near Tesla Road where we see Geotextile membranes, gravel and more grade leveling activities ahead of initial construction.
Over the past few years, the idea of a Giga Texas formal Welcome Center and new employee orientation facility has been in various permits with many revisions, updates and location changes but now it seems that the final location and initial construction may now be underway.
If this is the new Welcome Center, it could make public events a lot nicer at the factory.

In the video Introduction, I talk about many of the big events and product reveals coming up in the next 4 weeks, including the NET 22 September Starship Flight 14, the 24 September Tesla Semi Launch, the end of the 3rd Quarter which may be record setting for vehicle deliveries, the the1 October new Tesla Roadster reveal event near Waco, and the big X Takeover event on 10 October here at the Giga Texas factory!
I also give some additional details about the X Takeover event and discuss the new Boring Company Tunnel that was once revealed in permits and site planning documents back in September 2022 (and covered on my 11 September 2022 video).
It seems a new permit filing has surfaced very recently indicating this tunnel project is getting ready to commence. This tunnel will connect the main Giga Texas property under the Colorado River and to the near “island” on the other side of the river where additional construction has been underway for some time.
Some additional highlights from today:
On the E side, the joint SpaceX & Tesla Advanced Technology Chip Fab foundation is being prepared for concrete, including a yellow moisture barriers and slab rebar assembly while the last of the reinforced footings are being constructed on the S end. A large yellow Sarens crane is arriving in sections and will be assembled soon to continue construction on this facility.
On the N side, the Optimus Factory steel assembly, floor decking, floor rebar and on the S end, perimeter grade beam footing excavation and rebar cage installation is underway. A lot more steel has been delivered and positioned on the N and S ends and all cranes are in operation today, so fast progress continues.
Cortex 2 has had about 90% of its Megapacks installed while water reclamation plant tank foundations and light pedestals are being finished up today along with all the underground pipes under the foundation construction site. The cooling plant
#2 is getting more pipes installed between the plant and the main building.
The SE lined pond is nearing completion too, with final dirt application over the liner underway ahead of filling it up for the 1st time. Nearby, the new concrete batch plant for the Advanced Tech Fab construction is nearly ready for operations and the new parking lot just east of the multi-level parking structure is getting final grade materials.
There were many vehicles in the W EOL outbound lot including production of Model YL’s, Model Y’s, many Cybertrucks and more Cybercab track testing today.
