At least 30 Canadians are among the hundreds of people missing after devastating flash floods tore through the border region of Nepal and Tibet. The catastrophic flooding has killed at least 360 people and prompted local organizations like the Nepalese Heritage Culture Centre to launch urgent fundraising appeals; a renewed effort is underway to rename Trump Avenue in the Central Park neighbourhood as the escalating trade war with the United States frustrates local residents. Changing the name requires the approval of more than half of the 62 households on the street, which previously failed during a tied vote in 2021; and an Ottawa Redblacks defensive back is helping local children prepare for the classroom by giving away 100 fully stocked backpacks. CTV's Patricia Boal reports that Alonzo Addae shared how his family taught him the importance of giving back to the community that supports his professional career.
