Fire crews still dealing with a "significant number" of fires across Wales and England | BBC News

The chair of the National Fire Chiefs Council, Phil Garrigan, said further high temperatures in the England weren't being ruled out.

"If we move into a sixth heatwave we need to be prepared and we need to be effective and certainly that focuses in on the role of fire and rescue services," he said.

The Met Office has said some areas of the UK will have the "first meaningful rain in a long time" this week.
