First, we follow Harry from @mineoperator as he transforms hand-selected Mount Baker Lightning Quartz from our underground gold mine into beautiful jewelry-grade cabochons. From rough ore pulled deep underground to cutting slabs, selecting the best patterns, shaping, grinding, and polishing, you'll see the incredible amount of work that goes into revealing the hidden beauty inside these unique quartz veins. Every cabochon is one of a kind, featuring the distinctive "lightning" patterns created by pyrite woven through brilliant white quartz—and sometimes even a little gold.

Then we head back to the mine with Dale from Tamarack Geological Services (https://www.tamarackgeo.com/) for a full day of hardcore geologizing. Using GPS mapping, structural measurements, and Leapfrog 3D modeling, we're working to better understand the relationship between our gold-bearing veins, major fault zones, and intrusive rocks. Every strike and dip measurement brings us one step closer to answering the biggest question every miner asks: Where's the next gold?
