Saudi Arabia is rapidly reshaping its oil export strategy as renewed Houthi attacks increase risks along key Red Sea shipping routes.

Crude shipments from the Saudi port of Yanbu are facing growing security concerns, with tankers reportedly switching off their automatic identification system transponders while carrying Saudi crude. The move makes it harder to track shipments and estimate export volumes.

With the Bab al-Mandeb Strait under increasing pressure, Saudi Arabia is turning to alternative routes, including Egypt’s pipeline network. Shipments through Egypt’s Mediterranean port of Sidi Kerir have reportedly more than doubled in August, highlighting the growing importance of alternative energy corridors.
