Donald Trump last night launched America's 250th anniversary celebrations with an event so brazenly partisan that Kash Patel's girlfriend sang the national anthem.
Oh, don't get me wrong. It was the most extravagant, blockbuster-and presumably costly Trump rally I've ever seen. But make no mistake about it, it was a Trump rally - and it was never going to be a nonpartisan event.
The final event was bodged together at the last minute, after Trump's 250th celebration committee tried to hoodwink a bunch of musical artists into a nakedly pro-Trump event. In the end all of them except Vanilla Ice smelled a rat and pulled out. So Trump threw His toys out of the prom, and decided to not only replace the entire concert series with a rally-but "the rally to end all rallies"
Sadly, he's holding another rally on the national mall about half a mile away on July 4. So it's only the rally to indoor rallies for about a week and a half.
