Cottage garden gorgeous...how to achieve it in your own garden...

If you love cottage garden style, then you’re in for a treat because today we’re going to see some absolutely gorgeous garden views. And I'm talking to Clare Foggatt, the author of a beautiful new book 'Beauty and Abundance - British Cottage Gardens' to discover what really makes a cottage garden work.

The glorious photographs by Jonathan Buckley in 'Beauty & Abundance' show some of the best British cottage gardens, ranging from famous gardens such as Great Dixter, where we filmed the interview, to little-known private gardens full of wonderful ideas we can use at home.

And as we look around, I’ll be asking Clare the questions gardeners really want answered. What actually defines a cottage garden? Which plants create the look? Can you have a cottage garden in a modern plot? And how do you stop it tipping from romantic abundance into complete chaos?
