North Carolina residents react to Trump saying higher gas prices are worth the cost of war

Residents in North Carolina expressed mixed reactions Thursday to President Donald Trump’s assertion that higher gas prices were worth the cost of the war in Iran. Trump tested his midterm campaign appeal Wednesday in North Carolina as he tries to help his handpicked Republican Senate hopeful and former national party chairman Michael Whatley shore up his campaign against Democratic former Gov. Roy Cooper.
