Ottawa unveils $100M steel shipping rebate to fight U.S. tariffs

Ottawa is offering a 50% shipping rebate on Canadian steel shipped by rail or marine within Canada for up to one year to counter U.S. tariffs and boost domestic competitiveness on national projects. Sault Ste. Marie-Algoma MP Terry Sheehan says the program will help Algoma Steel secure future bids, given its central location.
