Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan have signed a landmark defense agreement aimed at strengthening military cooperation and collective security.
Signed in Mecca by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the pact commits the three countries to closer defense coordination and joint deterrence against external aggression.
The agreement comes at a time of heightened regional tensions, including conflict involving Iran, continued attacks in the Red Sea, and wider instability across the Middle East. It includes a collective security clause stating that an armed attack on one member would be considered an attack on all three.
Supporters say the pact is designed to enhance regional stability and peace, while analysts say it could reshape the Middle East's security architecture and alter the strategic calculations of Israel, Iran and other regional powers.
