RAF Barnham in Suffolk might house up to 1,250 men as the government responds to a system "under significant strain".

A recent referendum saw villagers in Oxfordshire declaring the "Principality of Piddington" in response.

Barnham's parish council chair, John Bauer, who visited Piddington on Tuesday evening, said he thought there was a "very good chance" holding a local referendum "could achieve similar results".
