Joint military drills between the United States and South Korea have been cut in half, after President Donald Trump called for their reduction, citing his close relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. “Based on direction from the President and Secretary of War, the Department has substantially reduced Exercise Ulchi Freedom Shield while continuing training that enhances tactical capability,” a Pentagon official said.

The struggle for global supremacy between the US and China is no more evident in the race to lead AI. While Silicon Valley remains dominant, China has managed to keep up. Recent Chinese models are closing the gap with the best American models and AI is widely incorporated into everyday life.
