Germany Vs Russia Goes Military, Putin's Forces 'Capture' Weapon Ship Amid Tensions? Watch

A call expected to last roughly 20 minutes reportedly stretched beyond an hour as Vladimir Putin laid out Russia’s position on NATO, Ukraine and why Moscow is not prepared to accept an immediate ceasefire. During talks with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Putin reportedly returned repeatedly to what Moscow describes as the conflict’s “root causes,” including NATO expansion and Europe’s post-Cold War security architecture. He also argued that continued European military assistance to Kyiv was prolonging the fighting. Putin reportedly rejected an immediate ceasefire while maintaining that the Donbas question must first be settled. The Nordic leaders subsequently briefed Volodymyr Zelensky, who accused Russia of “dragging out the war.” Despite the disagreement, preparations continue for planned US-Russia-Ukraine talks in November — setting up the next test of whether the competing positions can move any closer.
