Kyiv came under another intense Russian missile and drone attack on October 7, with explosions lighting up the night sky and thick smoke rising across the Ukrainian capital. Two people were killed after an air strike sparked a fire at a garage cooperative, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
As blasts echoed across the city, residents rushed into underground metro stations for shelter. Families, children and even pets spent the night underground as Russia launched what its Defence Ministry described as a “massive strike” on Kyiv and other Ukrainian regions.
