India delivered a strong message on terrorism at the 81st United Nations General Assembly, with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar asserting India’s right to defend itself against terrorism. Without naming Pakistan, Jaishankar referred to a “serial practitioner of terrorism” and said attempts to normalise terrorism or claim immunity from its consequences would not stand. His remarks came a day after Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif raised Kashmir and the 2025 India-Pakistan conflict at the UNGA.
