An Ottawa family says someone broke into their Westboro home while they were sleeping and stole more than $20,000 worth of property. CTV's Katelyn Wilson reports the family says they called police around 7:30 a.m. on August 29 but no officers came to take a report at the time. The family says police called back 11 hours later and took a statement by phone before sending forensic investigators. The family then followed its own leads, eventually locating some of the stolen property at a supportive housing property on Scott Street. Ottawa police confirmed they are investigating but provided no further details to CTV News.
