A reported Ukrainian military drone carrying explosives crashed and detonated near the Bulgarian village of Yovkovo, close to the Romanian border and near key infrastructure linked to the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline, Bulgarian authorities said. Local residents described hearing a loud blast before the drone fell into a sunflower field. Bulgaria's Defence Ministry said the drone was of a type widely used by Ukrainian forces, while Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova summoned Ukraine's ambassador for talks. Ukraine said it would assist the investigation and denied intentionally directing military assets toward Bulgaria. The incident has raised concerns over regional airspace security after reports that the drone may have crossed the area undetected.
