BREAKING: Senate Homeland Security Committee votes to hold Dr Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress after hearing where former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director pleaded Fifth more than 100 times
WASHINGTON DC - The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee to vote on holding Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress.
Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has released his contempt resolution against Dr. Anthony Fauci's after his contentious hearing on Capitol Hill last week.
Fauci pleaded the Fifth several times as Paul and other GOP members on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee sought to grill him about the origins and handling of the coronavirus.
President Joe Biden preemptively pardoned Fauci in Jan. 2025 as he left office in hopes of short-circuiting political prosecutions against the longtime health official. "Authorizing the President of the Senate to certify the report of the Committee of Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate regarding the refusal of Dr. Anthony S. Fauci to answer questions pertinent to the subject under inquiry before the Committee as required by Committee subpoena," Paul said in part of the resolution posted on X.
Paul, who released Fauci's diary last week, highlighted the doctor's two-sided remarks about masks, which he alleges Fauci said privately are ineffective in public. Meanwhile, Fauci wore three masks, he noted.
