Syntell and Rekkai react to It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Season 12, Episode 9 — "A Cricket's Tale." Matthew Mara is doing parkour through South Philly, which is going well until he lands in a trash can full of horse manure. His estranged father is not surprised. He's been looking for Matthew anyway. The offer: come work at the family business, take one more shot at being a person, and remember that a man fell in that same manure pile once and he doesn't intend to fall in it again. The gang calls with a competing offer. They negotiate down to $3. Cricket hangs up.
Cricket's brother Davey stole his identity and has been running the Mara family company into the ground. Cricket reconnects with a woman named Belle who — against all available evidence — finds him funny and cute. He does not believe her, assumes a prank, is wrong, and ends up spooning in a cardboard box on the street anyway because that's still better than most of his recent situations. He saves the family account by doing a flip off a truck. The dad gives the ultimatum: join the company for good or go back to the streets. The gang calls one more time. Belle turns out to have a complication involving a dog. Cricket goes back to the streets.
Post-reaction: Cricket was a man of God before the gang decided they needed a priest in their orbit, and here is what they made of him. The chat pointed it out and both hosts agreed: every single person in the gang's extended universe ends up worse off, except Artemis — and Artemis was already completely insane, already in control of her own universe, just mixing her crazy with their crazy on her own schedule. Cricket had no such protection. Dee has done as much damage as Dennis; they are twins, they were raised by Frank, and it all comes back to Frank eventually. The actor playing the business contact brought in recognition from both hosts — Zack Ward, Scott Farcus from A Christmas Story, also known from CHiPs, Z Nation, and Sharknado. Cricket chose the manure pile. We need a round of therapy. We still have more seasons.
