Infantino under pressure from football bodies over FIFA's failed World Cup plan

Embattled FIFA President Gianni Infantino is facing a difficult choice - resign or be subjected to a vote of no confidence.

Europe's football governing body - UEFA - has confirmed that it has lost confidence in him and called for a leadership review.

That message was swiftly backed by both the English and Welsh football associations, and echoed by football bosses in North and Central America and the Caribbean - though Infantino has received the backing of the Qatari and Moroccan football federations.

It all follows his failed plans to sell shares in the World Cup to private investors.
