Thousands of demonstrators marched through Kyiv on Friday, maintaining pressure on President Volodymyr Zelensky over the dismissal of former Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov during a cabinet reshuffle last month. Protesters carrying Ukrainian flags and anti-corruption placards called for Fedorov's reinstatement, arguing that his efforts to reform military procurement and increase transparency had been unfairly blocked. Zelensky has defended the move, saying tensions between Fedorov and former armed forces commander Oleksandr Syrskyi had undermined coordination between the military and the Defence Ministry. The protests come amid broader scrutiny of the July government overhaul, which also saw changes in Ukraine's top political leadership.
