Belitskoye Captured: Russian Troops Push into Donetsk as Moscow Claims 1,400+ Ukrainian Losses

Russia's Defence Ministry said on July 23 that its forces had captured Belitskoye in the Donetsk region and advanced across several sectors of the front line, including Sumy, Kharkov and Zaporozhye. Moscow claimed Ukrainian forces suffered more than 1,400 casualties over the past 24 hours and reported strikes against 146 military-related targets, including drone production facilities, fuel depots and infrastructure sites. The ministry also said Russian air defenses intercepted seven guided bombs, eight HIMARS rockets and 480 drones, while the Black Sea Fleet destroyed an uncrewed Ukrainian surface vessel. Ukraine did not immediately comment on the claims, which could not be independently verified.
